Abstract

The aims of this study were to determine: 1) the effect of teacher employment opportunities on the decision of choosing Accounting Education Study Program of Teaching and Education Faculty at Muhammadiyah Surakarta University in 2015 generation. 2) the influence of family environment on the decision of preferring Accounting Education Study Program of Teaching and Education Faculty at Muhammadiyah University Surakarta in 2015 generation, 3) the impact of teacher employment opportunities and family environment on the decision of selecting Accounting Education Study Program Faculty of Teacher Training and Education, at Muhammadiyah University of Surakarta for 2015 generation. The research was a quantitative study with a non-experimental research design by using survey design. This research was conducted at the Muhammadiyah University of Surakarta in the academic year 2018/2019. The population of the study were 224 students with a sample of 135 students. Data collection techniques were using documentation and questionnaires / questionnaire. The data were analyzed by normality test, linearity test, multiple regression analysis, F test, t test, determination coefficient test, and look for Effective Contributions (SE) and Relative Donations (SR) against Y. Based on research that had been done showed that: 1) The calculation results obtained T-count is 1.609 <1.978 or 0.110> 0.05, so there was no positive influence between Teacher Job Opportunities (X1) on the Decision of choosing Study Programs (Y). Teacher Job Opportunities gives a relative contribution of 6.93% and effective contribution of 2.29% 2) results calculation obtained T-count> was 7.673> 1.978 or 0.000 <0.05 then Ho was rejected, so there was a positive influence between Family Environment variable (X2) on the Decision of preferring Study Program (Y). Family Environment gives a relative contribution of 93% and effective contribution of 32.90% 3) the calculation result was obtained F-count> F-table was 33.536> 3.06 or Sig. <0.05 which is 0,000 thus Ho was rejected. Simultaneously there is a positive impact between the variable of Teacher Job Opportunities (X1) and Family Environment (X2) on the Decision of preferring Study Programs (Y).
