Abstract

Problem based learning is one of the student centered learning approaches. Problem based learning is a strategy that starts with exposing students to real problems or simulated problems. This study aims to determine the learning outcomes of ecosystem material using the Problem Based Learning learning model of class X Science MAN 1 Sragen. The research method used is the experimental method using cluster random sampling. The data analysis technique used in this study is quantitative descriptive data analysis and nonparametric statistical data analysis, namely by using the Wilcoxon test and Mann-Whitney test. The results showed that the Wilcoxon test results in the control class and PBL class obtained probability values (Asymp. Sig.) Were 0 <0.05, then H0 was rejected, meaning that there were differences in the average test scores before and after being given learning. While the Mann-Whitney test shows that the probability value (Asymp. Sig.) Is 0 <0.05, then H0 is rejected, meaning there are differences in the average value of the posttest value between the control class (lecture) and PBL class. Conclusion Learning outcomes in the ecosystem material by using a problem-based learning model for students of class X IPA MA 1 Sragen are better than the lecture method.
