Abstract

This study aims to identify the grammatical cohesion of conjunction on the television program Kick Andy on February 2019 in Metro TV and describes the relevance to learning Indonesian in high school. This research is a qualitative descriptive study. The results shows that there were 15 grammatical cohesions of conjunction used in the Kick Andy’s program includes time sequence tool, choice tool, material tools, an incompatibility tool, additives tool, contradictory tool, comparative tool, causality tool, optative tool, summary and conclusions tool, examples tool, dubitative tool, concession tool, firmness tool, explanations tool. The results of this study were also relevant to Indonesian learning in high school class XI in KD 3.3 identifying information (knowledge and sequence of events) in oral and written of explanatory text, and appearing in teaching material “Understanding the information including knowledge and the sequence of events from being heard and read”. Explanatory text can be identified the causality of the sequence of events by used karena, akibatnya, konsekuensinya, dengan demikian, oleh karena itu, oleh sebab itu. Then, to sort the occurrence from explanatory text can used time sequence tool mula-mula, setelah itu, akhirnya, sebelum itu, sesudah itu, lalu, kemudian, waktu itu, sejak itu, ketika itu.
