Abstract

This study aims to describe (1) the structure of the film Marlina Si Pembunuh Dalam Empat Babak by Mouly Surya, (2) the image of women contained in the film Marlina Si Pembunuh Dalam Empat Babak by Mouly Surya, (3) the film Relevance of Marlina Si Pembunuh Dalam Empat Babak as literary teaching materials in high school. This type of research will use qualitative descriptive research, the strategy used is a embedded case study strategy (embedded and case studies). Data mining techniques used in this study used literature. The validity of the data to be used is triangulation of data or sources. The data analysis technique used is the semiotic model reading method, namely heuristic and hermeneutic reading. The results of this study are: (1) The structure of the film Marlina Si Pembunuh Dalam Empat Babak is: the theme is struggle, with forward plot, figures of Marlina, Novi, Mark, Frans, Mama, and Typhoon, and setting; setting Sumba, setting free time in the film 3 days, and social sausages on Sumba and not cinematic (mise-en scenes, cinematography, editing, and sound). (2) The image of women in the film Marlina Si Pembunuh Dalam Empat Babak by using women's consent (a) The image of women in the domestic sector: the image of women as wives, mothers, and children and (b) The image of women in the public sector: the image of women in the religious sector, economics, education and law. (3) The relevance of the results of research as teaching material in special high school class XI with KD: 3.1, 3.3, and 4.1, and in accordance with the advice of literary learning according to three aspects, namely (a) language, (b) psychology, and (c) closing cultural background.
