Abstract

The purpose of this study was to find out: (1) a significant difference between the GI and STAD learning models on mathematics learning outcomes. (2) significant differences in mathematics learning outcomes from the AQ level of students (3) the interaction of learning models with the AQ level of students towards the learning outcomes of mathematics. This type of research is quantitative with a quasi-experimental research design. The study population was 98 VII grade students of SMP N 2 Banyudono. The samples taken were 3 classes, the first class using the GI model, the second class using the STAD model, and the third class using conventional models. The sampling technique uses cluster random sampling. Data collection techniques using test, questionnaire and documentation methods. The analysis technique used is two-way variance analysis with unequal cells. Based on the results of the study using a significance level of 5%, it was obtained: (1) There were differences in mathematics learning outcomes between GI, STAD and conventional learning models, GI tended to be better than STAD and conventional whereas STAD and conventional had the same results. (2) There are differences in mathematics learning outcomes in terms of student AQ levels. Students with AQ climbers were better than students with AQ campers and quitters, while students with AQ campers were better than students with AQ quitters (3) There was interaction between learning models (GI, STAD and conventional) with AQ levels (climbers, campers, quitters) on the results of learning mathematics. In the GI learning model, students with AQ climbers have better learning outcomes than students with AQ quitters.
