Abstract

Internet addiction can decrease the academic performance and study time, causing decrease in academic achievement. Student with stress condition potentially decrease in academic achievement, because its happend decreasing study consentrasion. To find out the relationship between internet addiction level and stress level with academic achievement on medical student of Muhammadiyah University of Surakarta. This study used a cross-sectional study design and was conducted on December 2018 in faculty of medicine Muhammadiyah University of Surakarta. The research subjects were 53 respondents who were taken by simple random sampling technique. Collecting data of internet addiction level using Internet Addiction Test (IAT) questionnaire, stress level data using the Perceived Stress Scale (PSS) questioznnaire, academic achievement data using block value of Premedical Science In Homezostatic Setting 2. Data were analyzed using the fisher’s and chi-square test. The results of the fisher’s test found that there was no relationship between internet addiction level and academic achievement (p=0,522), there was no relationship between stress level and academic achievement (p=0.029). There is no relationship between internet addiction level and academic achievement and there is relationship between stress level and academic achievement.
