Abstract
Teaching materials are components that can not be separated in teaching, the use of teaching materials will help the effectiveness of the learning process and delivery of content or subject matter. One of the teaching materials that have been known and widely used in teaching and learning activities in general by the school institution is the Student Worksheet (LKS). For teachers LKS function is to determine the active learning students in accordance with the ability of each way of thinking and learning materials can be designed in various ways in such a way that is able to meet the needs of students. So this study examines: The use of teaching materials student worksheets to improve the effectiveness of Islamic education learning class VIII in Junior High School (SMP) Muhammadiyah 6 Surakarta. With the formulation of the problem (1) How the use of class work materials (LKS) class VIII in SMP Muhammadiyah 6 Surakarta, (2) how the effectiveness of the use of student work sheet material (LKS) in the learning of Islamic education class VIII in SMP Muhammadiyah 6 Surakarta . This research is a field research with a qualitative approach is the purpose is this research requires the author to go directly to the field, then interact directly to obtain valid and accurate data as required. This data collection technique uses interviews, observation, and documentation. While the technical data analysis used is descriptive qualitative with deductive method, which is a way of thinking by reviewing the theory study and then associated with fact or reality obtained in the field with the reasoning, then drawn a conclusion. The results of this study indicate that the utilization of student worksheets (LKS) (1) Utilization of student worksheets (LKS) on teaching and learning activities class on the subjects of Islamic Religious Education (PAI) makes students more happy in the learning process that has been structured and students also Easier to learn when at home. In addition, the existence of student worksheets (LKS) of teachers of Islamic Education (PAI) is easier in delivering the material although it should provide additional material that is not in the student workbook textbooks (LKS). (2) Utilization of student worksheet (LKS) can improve the effectiveness of learning of Islamic Religious Education class VIII in SMP Muhammadiyah 6 Surakarta.
