Abstract
The purpose of this study is (1) to analyze the cultivation of critical thinking in mathematics learning at SD Negeri 1 Miricinde Purwantoro Wonogiri, (2) To describe the obstacles to cultivating critical thinking in mathematics learning at SD Negeri 1 Miricinde Purwantoro Wonogiri. This research uses a descriptive type of qualitative research with the design of a phenomenological approach. The research was carried out at SD Negeri 1 Miricinde with the object of the study being the activity of students in cultivating critical thinking in mathematics learning. Meanwhile, the subjects of this study were students at SD Negeri 1 Miricinde, class teachers, and principals. Research data collection uses interview, observation, and documentation methods. The collected data is analyzed in three steps: data condensation, presenting data (display data), and drawing conclusions or verification (conclusion drawing and verification). Meanwhile, the validity of the data with trianggulation of techniques and sources. The results showed that the cultivation of critical thinking concluded that 1) Mathematics learning planning with problem-based learning can be seen from the learning indicators and objectives in the RPP which contains operational verbs (KKO) cognitive realm level C6, namely creating / making. 2) The implementation of mathematics learning with problem-based learning begins with the apperception of literacy activities, where students are invited to think critically to discuss telling the content of non-lesson books. The core learning activities are carried out using a scientific and problem-based approach by showing aspects of critical thinking skills, namely asking questions, planning strategies, and evaluating conclusions. 3) Evaluation / assessment of mathematics learning with problem-based learning compiled by teachers at the cognitive level C6 / creating or analyzing, based on contextual problems, and using various problems.
