Abstract

Palangkaraya City is one of the cities in Central Kalimantan which has a fairly high poverty rate compared to other districts in Central Kalimantan. This study aims to determine the effect of GRDP, unemployment rate, inflation and education levels on poverty levels in Palangkaraya City in the period 1995-2019. The analytical tool used in this study is the Ordinary Least Square (OLS) regression analysis. The data used are time series data and secondary data obtained from the websites of the Central Kalimantan Statistics Agency (BPS) and the Central Statistics Agency (BPS) Palangkaraya City. The results of this study indicate that the independent variables that have a significant effect on poverty in Palangkaraya City are the variables of GRDP, unemployment rate and education level. The GRDP and education level variables have a negative effect on poverty in Palangkaraya City, while the unemployment rate variable has a positive influence on poverty in Palangkaraya City. Then, the independent variable that does not have a significant effect on poverty in Palangkaraya City is the inflation variable.
