Abstract

This study discusses the deixis analysis found in Sandy’s Nutty Nieces Manuscript on Spongebob Squarepants movie season. The researcher's objectives are: 1) to find out the types of deixis in Sandy’s Nutty Nieces Manuscript on Spongebob Squarepants movie season, 2) to describe the meaning of each deixis type found in Sandy’s Nutty Nieces Manuscript on Spongebob Squarepants movie season. In this study, the authors used descriptive qualitative research. The data are utterances that contain the types of deixis found in Sandy’s Nutty Nieces Manuscript on Spongebob Squarepants movie season. The author uses the method of observation and documentation to collect data. Based on the results of data analysis, the authors analyzed 155 utterances containing deixis found in Sandy’s Nutty Nieces Manuscript on Spongebob Squarepants movie season. From this analysis the authors found that: 1) there are three types of deixis found in Sandy's Nutty Nieces Manuscript on Spongebob Squarepants movie season, namely person deixis, spatial deixis, and temporal deixis, the result is 79% deixis person, 16% deixis spatial, 5% temporal deixis. 2) the meaning of each deixis type found in Sandy’s Nutty Nieces Manuscript on Spongebob Squarepants movie season, there are 79% deixis person (first person, second person, and third person), 16% deixis spatial (show the place), 5% temporal deixis (show the time) of each utterance in the manuscript.
