Abstract
Leucorrhoea is one of the most commonly reported infections in women. Leucorrhoea treatment must be given rationally to obtain therapeutic success and prevent recurrence. The purpose of this study was to evaluate the rationality of leucorrhoea treatment at the Kasih Ibu Hospital Surakarta in the period of 2017-2018 based on the parameters of the right indication, the right drug, the right patient, and the correct dosage using the rationality guidelines for drug. This study uses a non-experimental type of research with retrospective data collection and descriptive analysis. Sampling was done by purposive sampling based on inclusion criteria, namely female patients who were diagnosed and received vaginal discharge therapy in the period 2017-2018 and the patient's medical record data. The population in this study amounted to 87 patients, samples that met the inclusion criteria totaled 49 patients. The results of the evaluation of the rationality of vaginal discharge in this study were 86.37% correct indications, 100% correct patients, 81.82% right drugs, and 40.89% incorrect dosages. The most widely used drug was fluconazole 48.97%, doxycycline 26.53%, metronidazole 34.69% with the route of oral administration as much as 18.36% and the route of intravaginal administration as much as 16.32%.
