Abstract

Children under 5 years old are a phase where growth and development increased rapidly.At this time the nutritional needs of child under 5 years old increased. are higher. Children under 5 years old have become active consumers and there have been changes in food types so that children under 5 years old are susceptible to nutritional problems. Therefore, parenting is necessity for the feeding practice in child under 5 years old.This study aims to determining the association of feeding practice and child under 5 years old nutritional status in Joho Mojolaban Sukoharjo. This study was an observational study with cross-sectional approach. It was carried out by involving respondents as many as 59 child under 5 years old at age 2-5 years based on the inclusion and exclusion criteria. The respondents were taken by using Systematic random sampling. Nutritional status were measured using anthropometry with weight for age index (W/A). Feeding practice were taken from Comprehensive Feeding Practices Questionnaire. All data were analyzed using chi square test.39 (66,1%) child under 5 years old had normal nutritional status and 29 (33,9%) had abnormal nutritional status.30 (50,8%) child under 5 years old had less feeding practice and 29 (49,1%) had good feeding practice. The analysis showed that there was no association between feeding practice and children under 5 years old nutritional status (p=0,314) in Joho Mojolaban Sukoharjo. There was no relationship between feeding practice and child under 5 years old nutritional status. Keywords: Child under 5 years old, feeding practice, nutritional status.
