Abstract

Boyolali Regency is a region with growing natural tourism potential, supported by its mountainous geography, rural landscape, and cool climate. The increase in tourist visits in recent years has demonstrated a need for adequate accommodation facilities. However, the availability of accommodations that can accommodate tourist needs while maintaining environmental sustainability remains limited. This situation highlights the importance of designing a resort that not only functions as a place to stay but also adapts to the environment and optimally utilizes local potential. The design of this resort in the Cepogo tourist area of Boyolali Regency aims to accommodate tourism activities in an integrated manner with an eco-friendly approach. This approach is applied to create an environmentally responsive design through the efficient use of natural resources and the application of sustainability principles in the design. Furthermore, local potential, such as cattle farm waste, is utilized as an alternative energy source through a biogas system to support building operations. The design method is carried out through analysis of the location context, site conditions, activities and space requirements, as well as literature and comparative studies, which are then translated into concepts for massing, space, and building form. The resulting design is a resort with a dispersed massing layout that adapts to the land's contours, utilizes local materials, and optimizes natural lighting and ventilation. This design is expected to produce a sustainable, adaptive tourism facility that will enhance the appeal of the Boyolali tourist area.
