Abstract

Boyolali Regency is one of the regions with significant potential in the dairy farming sector, as indicated by its high cattle population and substantial milk production each year. This potential not only contributes to the local economy but also shapes the regional identity as the “Milk City.” However, its utilization is still primarily focused on production and distribution, while educational and tourism functions related to dairy farming and milk processing have not been integrated into a comprehensive facility. Learning activities related to the process of dairy farming to milk processing remain limited and are not yet accommodated within an integrated, educational, recreational, and representative area. This condition indicates the need for a facility that can integrate educational, tourism, and local economic functions into a sustainable spatial system. The design of Boyolali Milk Park as a dairy farming education center and milk-based tourism destination aims to accommodate integrated learning and recreational activities while strengthening Boyolali’s identity as a milk-producing region. A contextual architectural approach is applied to adapt the design to the physical, social, and cultural conditions of the site, resulting in a development that is harmonious with the local character without neglecting modern values. This approach is expected to create spaces that are not only functional but also meaningful and connected to their surroundings. The design method involves field data collection, literature studies, and precedent studies to identify spatial needs and site potential. The analysis includes site, circulation, and zoning aspects, which are then translated into the design concept. The result is expected to be an interactive and sustainable educational tourism area that supports public understanding and contributes to local economic development.
