Abstract

The development of drag racing in Indonesia is not matched by the availability of official racing facilities, thus triggering the rise of illegal racing that impacts safety and environmental noise. Klaten Regency has strategic potential for the development of national-scale motorsport facilities as well as sports tourism. Therefore, this study aims to design the Central Java Eco Motorsport Park with a sound buffered design approach as a solution for a safe, legal, and environmentally friendly racing facility. The methods used include literature studies, precedent studies, site analysis, racing vehicle noise analysis, and noise distribution modeling using NoiseTools to generate noise maps. The results of the analysis are translated into zoning concepts, massing, and landscape and green open space management strategies. The results show that the implementation of earth embankments, layered vegetation, zoning safety distances, and building mass arrangement can reduce the impact of noise on surrounding settlements. The area is designed not only as a national-standard drag racing track, but also as a recreational, educational, and economic public space that supports environmental and social sustainability. The design concept emphasizes the integration of a race track, green open spaces, public facilities, and sustainable energy and water systems in one eco motorsport park area that functions as a place for integrated automotive, recreational, and public education activities.
