Abstract

The growing trend of healthy lifestyles, increased sports participation, and the emergence of sports communities in Sukoharjo Regency reflect a rising demand for sports facilities. These facilities are expected to serve not only as venues for physical activity but also as spaces for social interaction. However, current conditions reveal that existing sports facilities are scattered, lack proper coordination, and fail to fully accommodate the diverse range of community activities. Furthermore, public spaces in Sukoharjo tend to be passive and do not yet fully support active social and physical engagement. The design of the Sukoharjo Sport Hub, with a focus on "Active Public Space," aims to create an integrated facility capable of accommodating various sports activities while serving as a public space that fosters social interaction among residents. The active public space approach was selected as the design foundation to create a dynamic, inclusive environment that boosts community participation in both physical and social activities. The design methodology involves primary data collection through precedent study observations and secondary data gathering from sources such as literature, journals, and relevant documents. This data is analyzed to determine spatial requirements, user characteristics, and a Sport Hub design concept aligned with the specific conditions and potential of Sukoharjo Regency. The project aims to produce a Sport Hub concept that is integrated, functional, and accessible, serving as both a sports hub and an active public space that enhances the quality of life for the people of Sukoharjo Regency.
