Abstract
This study examines the meaning of parental affection contained in the song lyrics of "Selalu Ada di Nadimu" by Bunga Citra Lestari. The problem addressed is how the meaning of parental affection can be thoroughly analyzed through linguistic signs found within the song lyrics. This study employs Roland Barthes' semiotic theory through three levels of meaning, namely denotation, connotation, and myth, reinforced by Stuart Hall's representation theory in understanding the social and cultural construction of meaning. The method used is descriptive qualitative with documentation as the data collection technique and purposive sampling, making the song lyric text the primary unit of analysis. The findings reveal that at the denotative level, the lyrics depict a continuous presence in one's life. At the connotative level, the lyrics represent protection, sacrifice, and sincere unconditional parental love. At the mythological level, the song constructs a collective belief that parental affection is eternal and transcends the boundaries of space and time. Therefore, this song does not merely function as entertainment, but serves as a cultural text that constructs and reinforces ideal family values within Indonesian society.
