Abstract
Mungkid District plays a crucial role as the administrative center of Magelang Regency and serves as a buffer zone for the Borobudur Temple tourist area. Rapid population growth and regional development have led to significant land use changes in Mungkid District. This study aims to analyze land use changes in Mungkid District between 2015 and 2024 and identify the most significant land use changes in the district. The data analysis method used was an overlay of land use change maps from 2015 to 2025 using a Geographic Information System (GIS). The results show an increase in residential and dryland areas, while rice fields and forests have decreased. The main factors causing these changes include population growth, economic activity, infrastructure availability, and regional spatial planning policies
