Abstract

Pharmacy Almira Farma faces challenges in drug stock management that still relies on semi-manual recording, resulting in an average of 8–12 stockout incidents per month and a near-expiry drug percentage of 5.2% of total inventory value. This study aims to implement a web-based Decision Support System for drug stock management by integrating three methods: FIFO (First In First Out), Safety Stock, and Simple Additive Weighting (SAW). The FIFO method ensures that drugs with the nearest expiration dates are dispensed first, thereby minimizing losses due to expired drugs in accordance with BPOM regulations. Safety Stock calculation based on the standard deviation of daily demand and lead time is used to dynamically determine the Reorder Point (ROP). The SAW method is implemented as the core decision-making engine by evaluating each drug across five weighted criteria: stock urgency, economic value, lead time, average daily demand, and remaining days to expiry producing an objective and measurable procurement priority ranking. The system is developed using the Waterfall development methodology with the Laravel 10.x framework, MySQL 8.x, and Tailwind CSS under an MVC architecture. Testing is conducted using Black Box Testing for functionality and Expert Judgment for usability assessment. The resulting system is capable of real-time stock monitoring, automating ROP-based critical stock alerts, and presenting SAW-based procurement priority recommendations, and is designed to reduce stockout incidents and losses from expired drugs.
