Abstract

This study aims to determine the relationship between work-life balance and job satisfaction with Psychological well-being among teachers at MAN 2 Madiun City. This study used a quantitative approach with a survey method, distributing questionnaires to 94 teachers selected through the total sampling technique. Data were analyzed using descriptive analysis, classical assumption tests, multiple linear regression analysis, and stepwise analysis. The results showed that work-life balance had a positive and highly significant effect on Psychological well-being (β = 0.669; t = 8.451; p < 0.001), while job satisfaction had a positive and significant effect on Psychological well-being (β = 0.237; t = 2.990; p = 0.004). Simultaneously, both independent variables had a positive and highly significant effect on Psychological well-being (F = 127.067; p < 0.001), with a coefficient of determination of R² = 0.736, indicating that work-life balance and job satisfaction jointly accounted for 73.6% of the variance in Psychological well-being, while the remaining 26.4% was influenced by other factors outside this study. Stepwise analysis showed that the Work Enhancement of Personal Life (WEPL) aspect provided the largest effective contribution, followed by satisfaction with coworkers and Personal Life Enhancement of Work (PLEW). These findings confirm that the better teachers are able to balance their work and personal lives, and the higher their job satisfaction, the higher their Psychological well-being. The novelty of this study lies in simultaneously examining work-life balance and job satisfaction as predictors of Psychological well-being among madrasah teachers, a population that has rarely been studied compared to teachers in general public schools. Practically, these findings suggest that madrasah administrators develop flexible working-hour policies, provide work-life balance management training for teachers, and build programs that strengthen coworker relationships in order to improve teachers' Psychological well-being.
