Abstract

Marem Grocery Store is a micro, small, and medium enterprise (MSME) engaged in the distribution of everyday consumer goods and household necessities. Its business operations, particularly transaction documentation and stock management, continue to rely on manual recording methods. This situation consistently produces operational difficulties, such as inaccurate data entries, inability to monitor inventory levels effectively, and sluggish information handling that degrades overall data quality and disrupts business continuity. This study focuses on the design and development of a web-based cashier information system intended to digitize sales workflows and inventory oversight. The system was built following the Waterfall model, progressing sequentially through requirements gathering, design planning, program coding, system testing, and maintenance. Laravel was selected as the development framework for its ability to produce clean, adaptable, and maintainable web applications. The completed system is capable of managing product catalogs, recording each sales transaction, computing bills automatically, instantly refreshing stock data, and generating structured sales reports. Based on Black Box Testing results, all system features performed in accordance with the established requirements, including security testing covering SQL Injection, password encryption, and CSRF protection, all of which were declared valid. Evaluation using the System Usability Scale (SUS) yielded an average score of 79.31, classified as Acceptable with a Grade Scale B (Good), demonstrating that the system effectively enhances operational efficiency, improves data management accuracy, and minimizes recording errors in both transaction processing and inventory control at Marem Grocery Store.
