Abstract

Murumuru butter is known for its high fatty acid content, such as lauric and myristic acids, which function as natural emollients to maintain skin moisture and elasticity. Montanov 68, as a plant-based emulsifier, has the ability to form stable emulsions, thereby improving product performance and stability. This research involved stages, formulation, physical stability testing (pH, viscosity, and homogeneity), and efficacy testing on the skin through moisture and irritation parameters. This study aimed to develop a body lotion formulation that utilizes palm seed extract (murumuru butter) and Montanov 68 as the main ingredients. The research results are expected to produce a body lotion with a stable, safe formulation that provides optimal benefits for the skin, as well as opening up opportunities for natural ingredient-based innovation to support the sustainability of the cosmetics industry.
