Abstract

This study aims to examine the relationship between parental social support and self-regulation and the Mathematics Academic Competency Test (TKA) learning outcomes among twelfth-grade students at MAN 1 Sragen. The proposed hypothesis is that there is a significant positive relationship between parental social support and self-regulation together with the learning outcomes of TKA Mathematics. The participants consisted of 206 active twelfth-grade students of MAN 1 Sragen.. This research design used a quantitative correlational method with a simple random sampling technique. Data collection for independent variables used the Parental Social Support Scale and Self-Regulation Scale. Data for dependent variables were obtained through documentation of TKA Mathematics exam scores. Data analysis used multiple linear regression. The results of the hypothesis test showed a significant simultaneous relationship between parental social support and self-regulation with the learning outcomes of TKA Mathematics (F = 2.453; p = 0.000). The R Square value of 0.200 indicates that both variables contribute 20% to learning outcomes. Partially, self-regulation is significantly related (p = 0.000), while parental social support does not show a significant relationship (p = 0.085). The conclusion of this study indicates that TKA Mathematics learning outcomes are more determined by internal factors, such as students' self-regulation of learning, than external factors. The implications of this research emphasize the importance of schools facilitating self-regulation strategy training programs and parents directing their support towards developing children's learning independence.
