Abstract
This study aims to design and implement an Internet of Things (IoT)-based automatic plant irrigation system using fuzzy logic. The study was motivated by the widespread use of manual irrigation systems, which are inefficient in terms of time and labor and often result in water waste. To address these issues, an automated system was developed using an ESP32 microcontroller as the main control unit, supported by three sensors: a soil moisture sensor, an air temperature sensor (DHT22), and a light intensity sensor (BH1750). Data from these three sensors is transmitted in real-time to the Blynk app for remote monitoring and control. Fuzzy logic is used to determine the irrigation duration based on environmental conditions detected by the sensors, with the main process involving fuzzification, an inference engine, and defuzzification. The research methodology consists of a literature review, system design, implementation, and device testing. Test results show that the system can effectively determine the irrigation timing according to the actual condition of the plants and provides users with ease of monitoring. Thus, this system is considered capable of improving irrigation efficiency and supporting automation in modern agriculture.
