Abstract
Grobogan Regency is one of the regions in Central Java that is experiencing rapid manufacturing industry development, one of which is marked by the establishment of PT Pungkook Indonesia One. This company is the second largest labor-intensive manufacturing industry in Grobogan Regency after PT Semen Grobogan. The presence of this company attracts a large number of workers from outside the region, creating the phenomenon of non-permanent mobility and domestic remittance flows. This study aims to analyze demographic characteristics, mobility patterns, and the volume and utilization of remittances for the region of origin. The research method used is a quantitative descriptive survey approach. The sampling method uses the Quota Sampling technique carried out by Accidental Sampling. The data collection method is carried out through structured interviews with the help of questionnaires. Data analysis uses frequency tables and percentages to describe the pattern of non-permanent mobility and the distribution of domestic remittances. The results show that the workforce is dominated by women (82%) of productive age, but the lack of specialized technical skills makes the majority of workers at the operator level. Circular mobility patterns are dominated by weekly mobility (68%), but high transportation costs are an additional economic burden for workers. The volume of remittances sent reaches 30-50% of monthly income, but 80% of these funds are still allocated for basic needs due to low savings for the future. Utilization for investment is only 20%, hampered by low digital literacy among recipient families, resulting in 60% of remittances still being sent manually in cash upon return. Overall, this remittance flow plays a vital role in the family economy but is not yet optimal for long-term economic independence.
