Abstract

This study was motivated by the fact that the cooperative arrangements between purple cabbage farmers and collectors in Kopeng Village, Getasan Subdistrict, Semarang Regency. This is a field study employing a qualitative approach with a descriptive-analytical focus. This study conducts an empirical legal analysis of the profit-sharing mechanism and the distribution of operational costs using the theoretical framework of the Musyarakah contract within the context of Islamic Economic Law to validate the legality and fairness of these transactions. The results of this study indicate that these cooperative practices do not yet fully comply with the principles of the Musyarakah contract, particularly regarding the profit-sharing mechanism which employs a system of deducting a percentage from the selling price and the ownership status of the harvest, which does not constitute joint ownership (syirkah). Theoretically, this study serves to enrich the literature on the application of the syirkah inan and muzara’ah contracts in contemporary vegetable commodities, while practically, it provides guidance for farmers and business operators in Kopeng Village in drafting more transparent and Sharia-compliant cooperation contracts to realize economic justice within the framework of Islamic Economic Law.
