Abstract

Sindang Dataran District is one of the Robusta coffee-producing areas in Rejang Lebong Regency. However, coffee production tends to fluctuate, which is suspected to be influenced by agroclimatic conditions, especially temperature and rainfall. This study aims to analyze the spatial distribution of land surface temperature (LST) and rainfall, determine agroclimatic zones based on Oldeman classification, and evaluate agroclimatic suitability for Robusta coffee. This study uses a quantitative approach with spatial analysis based on Geographic Information Systems (GIS). The data used include Landsat 8 imagery to derive LST values and CHIRPS rainfall data from 2016 to 2025. The analysis includes thermal image processing, Oldeman classification, and overlay to produce agroclimatic zones. The results indicate that land surface temperature is still within the suitable range for Robusta coffee growth. Rainfall is dominated by wet months, resulting in Oldeman climate type B. The agroclimatic zones identified are B-T1 and B-T2. The suitability evaluation shows that the study area is dominated by moderately suitable (S2) class (94.20%), while highly suitable (S1) is very limited (0.22%), S3 is 4.83%, and S4 is 0.75%. Overall, the agroclimatic conditions are generally suitable for Robusta coffee cultivation, although most areas fall into moderate suitability, requiring proper management to optimize productivity.
