Abstract

The Account Executive (AE) profession plays a crucial role in building long-term relationships with clients and maintaining the company's image. However, high workloads and a lack of recognition can lead to burnout, which negatively affects employee performance. This study aims to examine the impact of workload and reward systems on burnout experienced by Account Executives at MyRepublic branch X. The subjects of this study were 63 senior Account Executives working at this branch, selected using purposive sampling technique. Data were collected using three scales: the burnout scale, the workload scale, and the reward scale. Data analysis was conducted using multiple linear regression with the Jamovi software version 2.6.13. The results show a significant effect with a p-value of 0.001 (P<0.05). The workload has a significant positive effect on burnout among Account Executives at MyRepublic with t = 6.90 and β = 0.662. On the other hand, rewards have a significant negative effect on burnout with t = -3.54 and β = -0.411. Overall, workload and reward systems contribute 63.7% to burnout, with workload contributing 45.3% and rewards contributing 18.4%. These findings suggest that proper management of workload and reward systems can reduce the risk of burnout among employees. The implications of this study highlight the need for companies to pay attention to workload factors and reward systems to maintain employee well- being, particularly for Account Executives, in order to improve their performance and loyalty.
