Abstract
The gamelan craft industry in Wirun Village has experienced significant decline in recent years, both in terms of sales, capital, and regeneration of successors to the gamelan craft in Wirun Village. This study aims to determine the role of the Wirun village government in developing the gamelan industry and the challenges faced by the Wirun village government in developing the gamelan industry. This study uses a juridical-empirical research method with a Statute Approach and a Case Approach. The results of the study are as follows. First, the Wirun Village Government not only encourages the development of the gamelan craft industry in Wirun Village, but also promotes the preservation of the gamelan craft industry in Wirun Village through the introduction and training of gamelan musical instruments from an early age. Second, the main challenge for the Wirun Village Government in developing the gamelan craft industry in Wirun Village is the low interest of the younger generation in the gamelan craft industry in Wirun Village.
