Abstract

Boyolali Regency, known as the “City of Milk” and “New Zealand Van Java,” is one of the regions that produces the most cow's milk in Central Java. Although milk production reaches 140,000 liters per day, some of it is still not absorbed by the manufacturing industry and has the potential to be wasted, causing economic losses for farmers and environmental pollution. The lack of educational facilities that introduce dairy products to the public has resulted in a low level of understanding of the potential of dairy products and livestock waste that has not been properly processed, causing environmental pollution. These issues form the basis for the design of an educational dairy processing tour that serves as an educational facility. The objective of this design is to create an educational tourism program based on milk processing that can attract visitors and boost the local economy. The design concept uses a green architecture approach that emphasizes environmental sustainability. The educational tour is designed to provide education on everything from livestock maintenance, milking, processing milk into derivative products, to waste management. In addition, this educational tour also applies environmentally friendly principles through waste management that produces biogas and organic fertilizer. The results of this design are expected to boost the local economy, develop local potential, and build public awareness of the importance of sustainable milk and waste processing.
