Abstract

Low birth weight (LBW) remains a major cause of neonatal morbidity and mortality. In Indonesia, the prevalence of LBW reached 6.2% in 2022, with Sukoharjo Regency recording 438 cases. Maternal factors such as hemoglobin (Hb) levels, upper arm circumference (MUAC), and the age of pregnant mothers are known to affect the birth weight of infants. However, studies on the relationship between these three factors in the working area of the Baki Public Health Center are still limited.. Purpose to determine the relationship between Hb levels, Lila and age of pregnant women with the birth weight of babies at the Baki Health Center. This study was quantitative, with an observational analytical design using a simple prospective cohort design, involving pregnant women in their third trimester. Data collection was conducted using observation sheets taken from the KIA handbook. Bivariate analysis results showed a significant relationship between Hb and BBL (p=0.001), LiLA with BBL (p=0.001), and maternal age with BBL (p=0.001). There is a relationship between Hb levels, LiLA, and maternal age with infant birth weight. Efforts to prevent anemia and CED in pregnant women, as well 1 as monitoring at-risk pregnancies, need to be increased to reduce the incidence of low birth weight (LBW).
