Abstract

Background: Nurses are the most common medical personnel found in hospitals in providing health services. In the implementation of nursing services, care actions carried out by nurses can include nursing managerial functions. One of the primary nursing management methods commonly implemented is nursing case rounds. However, many nurses in hospitals still do not implement case rounds in providing care due to several factors that can ultimately impact the quality of nursing service delivery. One factor that can be the cause of not implementing case rounds is the lack of nurses' knowledge about implementing nursing case rounds. This is based on case study to several nurses at PKU Muhammadiyah Sampangan Hospital conducted on June 12, 2025. Research Objective: This study aims to determine the effect of case round training on the level of nurses' knowledge and skills. Method: This type of research is a quantitative pre-experimental with a one group before after study design approach. The sample used was 31 nurses who attended the training who met the criteria as respondents who were taken using an accidental sampling technique. Data collection on the level of knowledge was carried out using a questionnaire given to respondents before and after the intervention was given. Data collection on the level of skills was carried out through observations of nurses' actions after the intervention was given. Results: The results of this study indicate that there was an increase in knowledge and skills in respondents after being given training. This is indicated by a change in the average level of knowledge from 9.52 to 10.94 with the results of the paired T test showing a p value of 0.003 <0.05 and the average nurse skill showed a figure of 27.93 which is included in the high category after being grouped using the score range on the observation sheet. Conclusion: This study concluded that after being given the intervention there was an increase in nurses' knowledge and skills in carrying out nursing case rounds.
