Abstract

Conference training is a clinical learning method that aims to improve nurses' abilities in planning, implementing, and evaluating nursing care through pre-conference and post-conference activities. This study aims to determine the effect of conference training on nurses' knowledge and skills before and after training at PKU Sampangan Hospital. This study used a pre-experimental one-group pretest–posttest design. The sampling method used was total sampling with 60 respondents. Data were obtained through knowledge questionnaires and skill observation sheets, then analyzed using the Wilcoxon test. The results showed a significant increase in nurses' knowledge and skills after training, as indicated by a shift in the knowledge and skill categories from adequate and poor to a majority in the good category, with a p-value of 0.0001. In conclusion, conference training is effective in improving nurses' knowledge and is recommended to be implemented routinely to support the improvement of insight and quality of nursing services at PKU Sampangan Hospital.
