Abstract
This study examines the role of the prosecutor's office in implementing restorative justice for violent crimes involving children as perpetrators and victims and the position of restorative justice in resolving violent crimes against children. The research method used is normative juridical with a conceptual approach and legislation, using secondary data in the form of primary and secondary legal materials analyzed descriptively qualitatively. The results of the study indicate that the prosecutor's office not only plays a role as a public prosecutor, but also as a facilitator of penal mediation and inter-institutional coordinator in the implementation of diversion and recovery. Restorative justice occupies a crucial position as the primary solution and is the best mechanism for protecting the best interests of children in the juvenile criminal justice system, emphasizing psychosocial recovery, social reintegration, and preventing re-victimization. The main obstacles to its implementation lie in the lack of synergy between institutions and low public understanding. Therefore, strengthening relationships between law enforcement officials and public outreach regarding restorative justice are necessary to ensure its effective and sustainable implementation.
