Abstract

Domestic violence (KDRT) remains a serious issue in Grobogan Regency. This study aims to examine the role of the police in preventing and handling domestic violence at Polres Grobogan. The research method used is qualitative with a juridical-empiris approach, through interviews, and literature studies from legislation and related journals. The findings show that preventive efforts are carried out through legal education, the role of Bhabinkamtibmas, cross-sectoral cooperation, and service innovations such as mobile SPKT units. In handling cases, Polres Grobogan applies a victim-centered approach by providing psychological assistance, identity protection, and coordination with the Witness and Victim Protection Agency (LPSK). The main challenges include the limited number of UPPA personnel and the strong patriarchal culture, which are addressed through community-based approaches and inter-institutional collaboration. In conclusion, the role of Polres Grobogan in addressing domestic violence is not only focused on law enforcement but also on protecting victims and restoring social conditions, in line with the principles of restorative justice and progressive law.
