Abstract
Waste management is a systematic, structured, comprehensive, and continuous activity that includes various activities, including waste handling and reduction. Waste management in Pemalang Regency has been regulated through Regional Regulation Number 13 of 2012 concerning Waste Management and is implemented by the Pemalang Regency Environment Agency. The purpose of this study is to describe the implementation of waste management in Pemalang Regency based on Local Regulation No. 13 of 2012 concerning Waste Management in the Pemalang Regency area and to identify the obstacles and efforts of the Environmental Agency in implementing waste management. The research method used in this study is a legal-empirical approach with a qualitative type through field studies to collect primary data as the main data in the research, supported by secondary data as supporting sources. The results of the study show that the Pemalang Regency Environment Agency has implemented waste management in accordance with Regional Regulation No. 13 of 2012, although there are still obstacles in its implementation. However, the Environment Agency continues to make efforts to implement better waste management.
