Abstract

The design of an Internet of Things (IoT)-based automatic bird cage monitoring and control system using an ESP32 microcontroller aims to improve the quality of care and health of birds. This research aims to build an automatic monitoring system for the cage environment in real-time and can automatically control the cage roof, feed, and drinking water. The system is designed using an ESP32 microcontroller, an LDR sensor to detect light intensity, a rain- sensor to monitor weather conditions, an ultrasonic sensor to measure the availability of feed and drinking water. Actuators such as stepper motors as roof drive mechanisms, servo motors as feed control mechanisms and DC pumps for drinking water distribution. Sensor data is processed by the ESP32 and sent to the Internet of Things (IoT) platform so that users can monitor and control the system automatically through a smartphone-based application. Based on the specified parameters, the system is able to operate according to its designed function, namely to monitor and control the cage automatically remotely. With this system, it is hoped that bird owners can more easily manage their pets, increase efficiency and reduce the risk of stress and health problems in birds due to uncontrolled environmental changes.
