Abstract

The quality of madrasah education remains a strategic issue faced by many Islamic educational institutions, particularly in terms of the quality of learning processes and students’ learning outcomes. A number of madrasahs continue to experience problems such as inconsistency in the implementation of academic programs, low learning discipline, and the suboptimal internalization of scholarly values in learning activities. These conditions require structured, sustainable, and quality-oriented learning programs to improve overall educational quality. This study aims to analyze the implementation of the Mutūn Ṭālabil ‘Ilmi memorization program for students in the elite classes of MA PPMI Assalaam in an effort to enhance the quality of madrasah education, as well as to identify the supporting and inhibiting factors of the program. This research employed a descriptive qualitative method with a field research design, using a case study approach. The research informants consisted of the principal, students, teachers, and several parties directly involved in the management of the memorization program. Data were collected through observation, interviews, and document analysis. The findings indicate that: (1) the implementation of the Mutūn Ṭālabil ‘Ilmi program at MA PPMI Assalaam is conducted systematically and in a well-planned manner, with clear stages from planning and implementation to evaluation; (2) the supporting factors of the program include institutional support, madrasah leadership policies, the competence of supervising teachers, students’ motivation, and adequate technological facilities, which play an important role in the successful implementation of the program; and (3) the inhibiting factors include limitations in internet connectivity and time, as well as differences in students’ memorization abilities.
