Abstract

The advancement of information technology has significantly influenced the ease of conducting business processes, particularly in the trade sector. Building supply stores, as businesses with complex transactions, require a system capable of automating data recording and management efficiently. This study aims to develop a desktop-based cashier application using the Java programming language and MySQL database, specifically for implementation in building supply stores. The development method used is the waterfall model, consisting of requirement analysis, system design, programming, testing, and maintenance phases. The application features include product data management, transaction processing, customer data handling, and stock reporting. The development results demonstrate that the system improves transaction recording efficiency and accuracy, as well as assists business owners in decision- making. This application is expected to serve as an effective digital solution for small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs).
