Abstract

Academic burnout is a condition in which individuals experience physical and emotional exhaustion, diminished motivation, and a lack of enthusiasm toward academic-related activities, ultimately leading to a decline in their performance or achievements. One of the factors that may influence the emergence of academic burnout is family support, which serves as a primary source of emotional and social comfort for students. In addition, self-concept also plays an important role in shaping how students perceive their own abilities and respond to various academic demands. This study aims to examine the relationship between family support and self-concept with academic burnout among students in the tahfidz program at SMA Muhammadiyah 1 Klaten. The subjects of this research were 88 students enrolled in the tahfidz program. The sampling technique used was total sampling. The instruments employed included an academic burnout scale, a family support scale, and a self-concept scale. The data were analyzed using multiple regression with Jamovi software version 2.6.13. The findings indicate a significant relationship between family support and students’ academic burnout, with an R value of -0.367 and a significance value of 0.012. A significant relationship was also found between self-concept and academic burnout, with an R value of -0.375 and a significance value of 0.008. Furthermore, family support and self-concept jointly demonstrated a significant association with academic burnout among high school students. The effective contribution of this study was 19.8%, with family support accounting for 9.8% and self-concept accounting for 10% of academic burnout, while the remaining 80.2% was influenced by other factors outside this study
