Abstract

Implementation of Game-Based Group Learning in Physical Education to Enhance Students’ Mental Strength and Communication Skills at SMP Muhammadiyah 7 Colomadu. Undergraduate Thesis, Faculty of Teacher Training and Education, Universitas Muhammadiyah Surakarta, October 2025. This study aims to determine whether game-based group learning in Physical Education (PJOK) can improve students’ mental strength and communication skills. The research employed a quantitative approach with a one-group pretest–posttest experimental design. The sample consisted of 15 eighth-grade students from SMP Muhammadiyah 7 Colomadu. Data were collected through a pretest to obtain initial measurements, followed by the implementation of game-based group learning in PJOK, and then a posttest. The results of data analysis showed a significant effect between the variables, with significance values (Sig. 2-tailed) of 0.000 and 0.001. Since these values are smaller than 0.05 (p < 0.05), it can be concluded that there is a significant difference between the pretest and posttest results. Therefore, the findings indicate that game-based group learning in Physical Education effectively enhances students’ mental strength and communication skills.
