Abstract
Ciletuh-Pelabuhanratu Geopark as a UNESCO Global Geopark possesses tourism potential that has not been optimally developed due to infrastructure limitations, limited accessibility, and low integration between regional planning and physical land potential characteristics. This research aims to analyze the land potential and physical conditions of tourism sites in Ciletuh Geopark within Ciemas Subdistrict and to formulate sustainable development strategies. The research methodology employs a quantitative approach through Land Potential Index (LPI) analysis and SWOT Analysis. The study was conducted at seven priority tourism sites including Curug Sodong, Curug Cimarinjung, Palangpang Beach, Cibanteng Nature Reserve, Kunti Island, Dharma Peak, and Gebang Peak. The results indicate that 78.72% of Ciemas Subdistrict has high to very high LPI, with Class II dominance (58.75%) distributed across 146 polygons. However, a paradox exists where 62.08% of the area experiences severe to very severe erosion and 59.73% falls into the scarce groundwater category. Five of the seven tourism sites have high combined potential with scores above 31, while two sites have moderate potential. SWOT analysis yielded four main strategies: (1) SO Strategy through the establishment of Ciletuh Geopark Innovation Hub that optimizes high-LPI land; (2) WO Strategy via integrated watershed rehabilitation programs and green infrastructure development; (3) ST Strategy through LPI-based adaptive zoning implementation and tourism product diversification; (4) WT Strategy focusing on development moratorium in very severe erosion zones. An integrated approach is required that considers the balance between regional potential and limitations through adaptive management to realize tourism development that harmonizes with environmental carrying capacity.
