Abstract
A low level of self-efficacy in individuals with type 2 diabetes mellitus can hinder successful disease management, thereby increasing the risk of developing severe complications. This study aimed to determine the relationship between self-perception and family support with self-efficacy in patients with type 2 diabetes mellitus. The research subjects included all 90 participants of the Prolanis Diabetes Mellitus program at Puskesmas Giriwoyo 1, selected using a total sampling method. A quantitative approach with multiple linear regression analysis was employed, utilizing questionnaires containing scales for self-perception, family support, and self-efficacy. The results showed a significant relationship between self-perception and family support with self-efficacy in patients enrolled in the Prolanis DM type 2 program (p < 0.05). These two independent variables contributed effectively by 38% to self-efficacy. The findings also revealed that self-efficacy, self-perception, and family support among Prolanis Diabetes Mellitus patients at Puskesmas Giriwoyo 1 were generally high. This study is expected to serve as a reference for designing psychological interventions that focus on strengthening self-perception and family support to enhance self-efficacy in patients with type 2 diabetes mellitus.
