Abstract

The role of mass media in framing a reality can be affected by the media's perspective. This perspective is what makes one media's news different from another even though the reality raised is the same. This research focuses on the news of Formula E which was held for the first time in Indonesia published by Koran Tempo from March 2021 to April 2023. The purpose of this study is to determine the framing of Formula E news coverage in Koran Tempo. This research uses a qualitative approach with the framing analysis method. The data collection technique used a documentation study and the sample selection used purposive sampling. The data analysis technique is Robert N. Entman's framing concept with four elements, namely define problems, diagnose causes, make moral judgment, and treatment recommendation. The researcher found that Koran Tempo framed the news of Formula E which was held for the first time by emphasizing the beginning of the problems that existed sourced in the financing of the organization and the formation of a negative image of DPRD and KPK for their reaction to the race.
