Abstract
This study aims to analyze the impact of the Gini Index, Minimum Wage (UMK), Human Development Index (HDI), and Open Unemployment Rate (TPT) on the number of poor people in Yogyakarta during the 2019-2023 period. The research method used is quantitative descriptive analysis with panel data regression, utilizing secondary data from the Central Statistics Agency (BPS) of the Special Region of Yogyakarta. The results indicate that HDI significantly influences the number of poor people, suggesting that improvements in quality of life, such as education, health, and income, significantly contribute to poverty reduction. On the other hand, the Gini Index, UMK, and TPT did not show a significant influence on poverty, indicating that other factors might play a more significant role in affecting poverty levels in Yogyakarta. This study also identifies some limitations, including the limited period and focus on specific variables, which may not fully reflect the complexity of factors influencing poverty.
