Abstract
A bridge is a structural construction designed to connect two separate points that are divided by physical obstacles such as rivers, ravines, highways, railways, or valleys, with the primary purpose of facilitating the movement of people, vehicles, and goods. In bridge construction projects, issues related to water accumulation are often unavoidable. In the case of the Ngrancang–Dalon Bridge project in Karanganyar, the foundation excavation site is located near a riverbank, which caused the excavation area to become flooded. One of the methods used to address this issue is dewatering using water pumps. Dewatering is the process of controlling and lowering the groundwater table to ensure that the work area remains dry and stable. In this project, dewatering activities were carried out using two Tesla WP30CX pumps. The total volume of water that needed to be removed from the four foundation holes, each with a diameter of 1.35 meters, amounted to 4,261,169.549 liters. In this study, five alternative pump types were compared to the one used in the field, namely: MGP 40HP, NGP 30HP, Alkon TP 40, Alkon RWP 80, and Tiger TGP 80. Based on the analysis, the Tiger TGP 80 pump has the same suction capacity as the WP30CX pump used on-site, which is 1100 liters per minute. However, the Tiger TGP 80 offers a significant cost advantage, being the most affordable among the pumps evaluated, with a price of Rp 1,139,900.00.
