Abstract

The design of the Traditional Health Center in Malangjiwan, Klaten with a biophilic architectural approach aims to create a healthcare facility that supports holistic healing, preserves local culture, and utilizes natural resources sustainably. The biophilic architectural approach integrates natural elements into spatial design to enhance environmental quality, reduce stress, and provide a positive user experience. Malangjiwan Village was chosen as a strategic location due to its abundant local herbal resources and strong cultural heritage in traditional health practices. This facility is designed to offer comprehensive services, including herbal therapy, traditional massage, medicinal gardens, and educational spaces. This study also analyzes how biophilic principles can be adapted to local geographical and cultural characteristics to create a responsive, sustainable design that promotes community health.
