Abstract
Compared to Sukoharjo, Surakarta, Klaten and Gunungkidul, the number of tourists in Wonogiri Regency is the lowest, even though the eastern part of Wonogiri has tourism potential that can attract tourists. However, the long distance between the eastern part of Wonogiri and the surrounding regencies can cause fatigue for tourists because there are no adequate rest area facilities within 25 km in accordance with the Minister of PUPR Regulation No. 19/PRT/M/2011. This design aims to answer the need for a rest area by optimizing the abandoned former terminal land into a rest area facility that not only functions as a physical resting place, but also as a space for the psychological recovery of motorists with a Healing Environment approach. This approach was chosen because it integrates natural elements, natural lighting, good air circulation, and the selection of soothing materials and colors to reduce stress and improve the psychological well-being of users. The research method includes field observation, literature study, and comparative study to collect data. Analysis was conducted on the existing conditions of the site, and the application of Healing Environment elements in the design. The design results are expected to be a solution to increase the number of tourists in Wonogiri Regency with a rest area that connects surrounding districts with Eastern Wonogiri.
