Abstract

The Darma Ayu Sport Center in Indramayu is a public sports facility with strategic potential as a center for community activities. However, the existing condition of the building and its area shows a number of problems, such as declining physical quality, suboptimal supporting facilities, and the lack of area planning that can accommodate social functions optimally. The purpose of this design is to redesign the Darma Ayu Sport Center into a creative public space that is functional, representative, and supports the development of sports potential and community social interaction. The method used is an architectural design method with an approach of field studies, site analysis, precedent studies, post-occupancy evaluations and contemporary architectural design concepts. The design results present a revitalization of the main sports arena building, the addition of integrated commercial areas, green zones, pedestrian circulation, and interactive open spaces. The proposed architectural concept emphasizes the integration of sports functions and public spaces with a contemporary character that is responsive to the tropical climate, aesthetically pleasing, and inclusive of various user groups.
