Abstract
Taro Luwih Arum: Herbal Botanical is an effort to create a space that combines the preservation of traditional medicinal plants with the concept of educational tourism and relaxation based on the Balinese Usada culture in Taro Village, Gianyar. This idea stems from the extraordinary biological wealth of Taro Village, which has not been optimally developed in an integrated area that supports the local economy. Through a biophilic architectural approach combined with local values, this design aims to address the need for learning spaces, relaxation areas, and also strengthen the community's economy. The issues raised are not only limited to the lack of herbal education facilities, but also the need to package the values of Balinese Usada in a more open and inclusive manner, so that it can be accepted by people from various religious backgrounds. Through an in depth design process ranging from site study and spatial processing to the selection of forms and materials, an environmentally friendly area is created, at one with nature, and remains rooted in local culture. This area consists of an educational herbal garden, a production space, a relaxation area, and an interactive nature tourism trail. It is hoped that Taro Luwih Arum can become an example of a destination that not only pampers the body and mind, but also revives traditional wisdom in a more modern and down-to-earth form.
